about

The Lamdera package server

packages.lamdera.io answers the requests the Elm compiler makes to package.elm-lang.org, at the same paths, from a mirror of every published Elm package. The Lamdera compiler uses it by default, so installing packages does not depend on package.elm-lang.org or on GitHub being up, or on a repository still being where it was when the package was published.

It holds 3041 packages, 17008 versions, of which 10234 have their zip here (versions published for Elm 0.18 and earlier have none, there either). 688 are rerouted, 208 are unavailable and 122 packages were renamed.

How it gets packages

Using it

The Lamdera compiler uses packages.lamdera.io unless told otherwise:

Packages are downloaded into ELM_HOME once, as with elm, so you are only ever asked about a version once.

The API

The same paths as package.elm-lang.org, so anything that reads that can read this:

Downloading everything

The whole mirror is also at cache.lamdera.com/elm: an append-only index.tsv of every version mirrored, and weekly snapshots (snapshots/latest.json) to fill a package cache in one download.
