Rerouted (cache, verified). The original is gone. This copy comes from a Lamdera package cache made before it went. The Lamdera package server serves a copy recovered from a Lamdera package cache from 2021-02-13.

What we checked: Rebuilt from the unpacked sources in a Lamdera package cache (5 copies agree), which Elm only writes after the published SHA-1 checked out; elm.json is byte-identical to package.elm-lang.org's; the exposed modules match docs.json; the zip is our own, so its SHA-1 is not the published one.

The Lamdera compiler uses this copy and prints a one-line notice saying so. elm itself fails to download this version.

Style.Shadow

Shadows

If multiple shadows are set, they will stack.

Easy Presets

These can be used directly as properties.

import Color
import Style exposing (..)
import Style.Shadow as Shadow

style MyStyleWithShadow
    [ Shadow.glow Color.red 5
    ]
simple : Property class variation

A nice preset box shadow.

deep : Property class variation

A nice preset box shadow that's deeper than simple.

glow : Color -> Float -> Property class variation

A simple glow by specifying the color and size.

innerGlow : Color -> Float -> Property class variation
textGlow : Color -> Float -> Property class variation

Advanced Shadows

You can also have more control over the paraters of the shadow, such as the Shadow.box shown below.

import Color
import Style exposing (..)
import Style.Shadow as Shadow

style MyStyleWithShadow
    [ Shadow.box
        { offset = ( 0, 0 )
        , size = 5
        , blur = 2
        , color = Color.blue
        }

    ]
box :
{ offset : ( Float, Float )
, size : Float
, blur : Float
, color : Color
}
-> Property class variation
{ offset : ( Float, Float )
, blur : Float
, color : Color
}
-> Property class variation

A drop shadow will add a shadow to whatever shape you give it.

So, if you apply a drop shadow to an image with an alpha channel, the shadow will appear around the eges.

{ offset : ( Float, Float )
, size : Float
, blur : Float
, color : Color
}
-> Property class variation
{ offset : ( Float, Float )
